Terms and Conditions
Thank you for choosing me as your therapist. The following terms and conditions outline the expectations and responsibilities for both parties during the course of our therapeutic relationship.

Description of Services
Counselling services involve the provision of professional counselling to address personal, social, emotional, and behavioural issues. The counselling services provided are confidential and are designed to help the client explore and resolve problems, gain insight, awareness, and make positive changes in life. Counselling services may involve multitudes of techniques, interventions, and psycho-education. The specific techniques and interventions will depend on the client’s needs and goals.
Note: You understand that the counsellor is not a medical or psychiatric doctor. If need be, the counsellor may recommend or refer the client to the appropriate medical healthcare worker/doctor/psychiatrist/specialist/clinician.
Client Involvement
Counselling is a collaborative process, and the client’s active participation is essential to the success of counselling. The client is expected to be open and honest with the counsellor, to attend scheduled appointments, and actively engage in the counselling process.

The Client may ask questions on what to expect during and the end result of therapy.

The Client may decline to proceed the therapy as to the techniques which may be conducted by the therapist.

The Client may cease to continue therapy anytime, without any impediment and may return to therapy anytime.
Therapist Involvement

The counsellor, will provide the client with support, guidance, and feedback throughout the process.

The counsellor will also work with the client to identify goals and develop a treatment plan tailored to needs and circumstances of the client.
Guarantees
-
While counselling can be helpful for many people, there are no guarantees of specific outcomes or results.

The effectiveness of counselling depends on many factors, including the client’s motivation, commitment to the process, and the nature of the issues being addressed.
Confidentiality

All client information is confidential, with the following exceptions:

Child, elder or dependant abuse,
-
Expressed threats of violence toward an ascertainable victim,
-
Detailed planning or concrete signs of future suicide attempts or self harm,
-
If sharing information is necessary to facilitate client care across multiple providers,
-
Requests from legal and administrative institutions,
-
If the counsellor is legally required to, they may legally speak to another healthcare provider or Client's family members in emergency situations.

The counsellor is allowed to keep (informed) brief notes as well as AV recording of the therapy session which shall be kept in strict confidence. Data taken, may be used for training purpose under strict supervision and anonymity.
Appointment Policies

Sessions are typically 50 minutes in duration unless otherwise agreed upon.

Please adhere to the timings of the session. Arriving late for a session will not result in extension of the session.

Fees once paid will not be refunded or transferred.

Please provide at least 24 hours notice for rescheduling. Missed appointments will not be refunded.

In a package system, one complete session’s amount will be deducted from the paid amount in case of a missed session.

If there is a cancellation/delay/ absence by the counsellor, you are entitled to ask for a refund or a rescheduling.
Fees and Payment

Payment is due before each session.

Session will be confirmed only after receiving the payment.

A receipt will be provided upon request for insurance or personal records.
Communication

Email and phone calls outside of scheduled sessions are generally reserved for scheduling and administrative purposes. Please be aware that the confidentiality of email communication cannot be guaranteed.
Termination of Services

Either party may terminate therapy at any time. It is recommended that termination be discussed collaboratively to ensure a smooth transition.
Professional Boundaries

It is important to maintain professional boundaries. Any form of social media connection or contact outside of therapy sessions is discouraged.
Declaration
-
You understand that wandering tendencies, absconding, self harm, abuse, suicidal tendencies, violent behaviour, suspiciousness, among others are signs and symptoms of mental illness and will not hold the therapist or its staff responsible or liable in any way.

You understand that, the client is solely responsible for their own actions, behaviours and you will not hold the therapist or it’s staff responsible or liable for it in any way.
Informed Consent

You acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions.
